The MPES Robotics Club builds with Lego Mindstorms EV3 Educational Robotic sets. This is the newest Robotics set created by Lego Education. Robotics Club Members learn to build basic robot units and program the robot to move in straight lines and curves. After we learn the basics, the next step is to build and program creatively. Robotics students build battle bots and challenge each other!
You will like Robotics Club if: You think it's fun to spend hours building something only to destroy it in 30 seconds. You like computers and want to learn about programming and how things work. Your understand it takes patience and hard work to achieve a goal. You like to create things on your own, but are also capable of working with others in pairs or teams.
The club currently has 8 robots, so each session will accommodate 16 students. There will be a Masters of Robotics session for a second opportunity to work with the robots during the Spring semester.
Open to 4th and 5th Graders.
We meet in the Computer Lab.
We will host 2 six week sessions in the Fall and 2 in the Spring.
Sponsored by MPES PTO.
